Golden Goliath

Founder reward

The first 100 pilots fly gold

Sign up as one of the first 100 pilots and you get the Golden Goliath skin for free: a Goliath design with its claws cast in polished gold.

Places are still free.

The idea

What if the game had taken a different path?

Horizontal progression: new roles, ships and things to do. Gameplay progress comes from playing. Optional cosmetics and voluntary support help keep the server running.

No pay-to-winNo paid power or shortcuts. Gameplay items are earned in play; optional original cosmetics support the server.
No passes, no FOMONo battle passes, login streaks or limited shops. Events come back.
Upgrades without gamblingUpgrades are expensive but certain. Boxes have published reward tables.

Browser client

Play in any browser, on PC or phone

No Flash and no launcher. We rebuilt the original 3D client for modern browsers. Log in on your PC or on your phone, it's the same pilot.

  • Touch controls on phones and tablets
  • If your connection drops, your ship stays in space while the client reconnects

Client technology

Unlimited FPS, new effects, reworked visuals

We didn't stop at a copy of the old client. The frame rate has no cap, ships wear HD textures, and reworked lighting, bloom and particles make flying and fighting feel much smoother.

  • No FPS cap, or set your own limit
  • New effects for shield hits, gate jumps, engine trails and drones that lean into turns
  • HD ship textures and HD backgrounds
  • A Performance preset for older PCs, and the Original look for anyone who wants it exactly as it was

Living universe

You are never alone

Even when the server is quiet, clearly marked ships of your company fly the maps. They are not just scenery: each one follows its own goals and routines. They hunt aliens, mine, haul ore home and run for a safe zone when a fight goes wrong. Guards sit at the stations, patrols check the gates, and now and then a rival company sends raiders into your maps.

  • You can hire them as escorts or take them along in your group
  • How they treat you depends on your reputation with their company
  • Their miners and trade drones carry real cargo and drop most of it when shot down
  • Attack a company ship and it calls for help. Reinforcements come through the gates

Companies

Factions that matter

Your company decides where you're safe and who comes after you. Each of the three keeps its own reputation score for you, so you can be welcome with one and hunted by another.

Mars Mining Operations Starts with a better laser, plus damage and mining boosters.
Earth Industries Corporation Starts with a better shield, plus shield and honor boosters.
Venus Resources Unlimited Starts with a repair bot, plus experience and resource boosters.
  • Reputation from Hated to Esteemed, with each company separately
  • Good standing gets you discounts and your company's own Goliath
  • Military ranks are back, ranked within your company
  • Clans only take pilots of one company, so no single clan can run the whole server

Hangar

Ships that are really yours

Buy hangar bays, park your ships in them and give each one a name. Every ship keeps a record of everything it has been through and earns prestige the longer you fly it. Prestige unlocks glowing outlines and designs of its own.

  • Each hull keeps its own equipment, design and name
  • Many kills of one alien species make the ship stronger against those aliens, and prestige earns rewards
  • Every ship looks better than in the original and takes center stage, for example in menus

Unique Ships

Some ships are truly unique

Out there are ships with abilities or equipment no other ship has. Only one pilot can own each of them, and if it is shot down, it is gone for good.

  • You have to find them first
  • Each one exists only once on the server, and only active pilots can own it
  • You can sell it to another pilot or hand it over

Progression

Slow at first, then it picks up

The start is slow on purpose. You get to know your ship, and every upgrade feels like something. Later you earn enough to kit yourself out completely, and much sooner than on other servers. And if you would rather stay with a ship you like, nobody rushes you.

Bigboy Vengeance Goliath At the start Playing time Earned so far
Simulated with our economy: a pilot who plays two hours a day, up to the Goliath.

Equipment

New powerful weapons

Next to the original equipment you'll find new lasers, shields, launchers, mines and extras, up to the Hellstorm Launcher 4.

  • LF-4 variants made for fighting pilots or aliens
  • Scatter Lasers with Overdrive and Spectral Lancers
  • New shields
  • New mines and new Hellstorm launchers
  • New extras

Fracture mining

Mining is a skill game

Bigger rocks have to be cracked. You hold the laser's power in the green band. Push too hard and the rock blows up, taking most of the ore and a chunk of your hull with it. A clean break pays best.

  • Now and then you come across an asteroid of pure Uridium, and everyone who helps mine it gets a share
  • Storage bays at your home base, and a refinery that keeps running while you're offline

Exploration

Something is always happening out there

Inside the maps and beyond their edges, there is always something going on. Out there, you have to stay alert.

  • Bonus Box StormSuddenly a map is full of bonus boxes.
  • Alien SurgeOne kind of alien comes back twice as fast.
  • Golden LordakiaCatch it before it gets away.
  • Pirate HuntMore pay for one kind of pirate, with a ranking.
  • Gate DefenseThree waves of enemies attack a gate.
  • Boss RotationEvery hour, a boss shows up somewhere else.
  • Pure UridiumA rock of pure Uridium. Mine it together.
  • Rare variantsAliens you know, with abilities you have never seen.
  • Company pilots in troubleHelp them out, and they may fly with you.
  • RaidA rival company sends raiders.
  • Drifting wrecksAn old hull, waiting to be stripped.

Salvaging

Strip wrecks for parts

Destroyed ships sometimes leave a wreck behind. Scan it, strip the plating, cut it along the seams and vacuum up the pieces. Scrap and electronics sell for Credits or become components for equipment upgrades.

  • Wrecks come from aliens, from players and from old hulls drifting on the maps

Freight

Contracts, freight drones and smuggling

Service docks post fresh contracts all the time. Longer and riskier routes pay more. You can also send freight drones through the portals, but they fly in the open and other pilots can shoot them down.

Classic content

Classic content, restored

  • The pirate sector. From 4-5 it's one way through 5-1, 5-2 and 5-3, past pirate fleets and the Palladium nebula
  • All eleven alien families and their bosses, plus Uber aliens, Cubikons and the Deadly Battleray
  • Galaxy Gates, the UBA arena, Spaceball, Invasion, Team Deathmatch and many, many seasonal events
  • Original ships, maps, enemies and prices

What's next

Why Alpha?

The game is playable today. The alpha is for balancing and tuning its systems, so shop prices or quest rewards can still change while you play.

Your progress stays: no reset is planned for the release.

This is what we're working on:

  • All original and modern ships, each with a place of its own in the game
  • New ship skins, 3D models and more, for example weapons
  • Better performance
  • More detail in the game world
  • Fixing a whole lot of bugs
